Interventional CMR

چکیده
Introduction Interventional CMR has been undergoing rapid development because of the availability of MR compatible interventional catheters, and the increased performance of the MR systems themselves. Much of this development has benefited from the previous groundbreaking work in MRI guided surgical technologies ; however, intravascular techniques do not carry the requirement for an open access scanner, and hence higher imaging performance during procedures can be achieved. Now, with the availability of a short, relatively open cylindrical scanner, high imaging performance is also available to guide direct surgical procedures. Dumoulin and colleagues 3 demonstrated real-time catheter tracking early on in the development of MRI, and interventional MRI has subsequently developed into the obvious method for delivery of numerous therapies.

Meeting Highlights of the 11th Annual Scientific Sessions of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, Los Angeles, February 1–3, 2008
This paper features the most interesting presentations and discussions of the 2008 Annual Sessions of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, which were held in Los Angeles from February 1 to 3, 2008. With more than 1100 attendees, this was the largest of the SCMR meetings ever. Among this year's highlights were scientific reports on CMR-based risk assessment, non-contrast tissue cha...
متن کاملThe role of cardiovascular magnetic resonance in candidates for Fontan operation: Proposal of a new Algorithm
BACKGROUND To propose a new diagnostic algorithm for candidates for Fontan and identify those who can skip cardiac catheterization (CC). METHODS Forty-four candidates for Fontan (median age 4.8 years, range: 2-29 years) were prospectively evaluated by trans-thoracic echocardiography (TTE), Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) and CC. Before CC, according to clinical, echo and CMR findings,...

OBJECTIVE To define important changes in management arising from the use of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) in patients who activate the primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) pathway. DESIGN Formal consensus study using literature review and cardiologist expert opinion to formulate consensus statements and setting up a consensus panel to review the statements (by completin...
متن کاملArterial spin labeling CMR perfusion imaging is capable of continuously monitoring myocardial blood flow during stress
Background Myocardial arterial spin labeling (ASL) is a non-invasive non-contrast CMR perfusion imaging technique [Zun et al., ‘09] that is compatible with adenosine stress testing [Zun et al., ‘11]. Here, we demonstrate its ability to continuously monitor MBF during stress, which has a variety of potential applications including interventional CMR and the study of endothelial function. We used...
